What I’m Reading

After watching the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, I picked up the book of the same title based on author Piper Kerman’s life. While reading a review for it, I saw the following title recommended:

Wally Lamb’s Couldn’t Keep it to Myself, featuring short stories written from incarcerated women who attended his writing workshop held at York Correctional Institution.

I’ve very much enjoyed it so far.

I’m also reading Batman The Killing Joke, by Allan Moore and Brian Bolland.

It’s an origin story for The Joker and served as inspiration for the character in Christopher Nolan’s  The Dark Knight.

So, what are you reading?

  1. Those both sound cool, and I have heard really good things about Wally Lamb from a couple of friends who’s book opinions I value. I am currently reading The Circle by Dave Eggers. It is about an interesting and somewhat scary concept to think about. It is also written without chapters, which makes for an interesting format.

I googled The Circle description – it sounds really interesting. I’m not sure I could do ‘no chapters’ though. I’m a stickler for format. I tried to read The Road by Cormac McCarthy, but couldn’t get past certain little formatting things to get into it.

I’m reading nothing, watching “Reign” season 1 on Netflix.

Did you ask me about The Killing Joke before? I have not read it but I think kidlet has.

  3. Kinesiology, Mobility Skills, and Therapeutic Interventions (aka textbooks). I like to pretend I’m leisure reading LOTR: Fellowship or this book called “The Body Keeps the Score” but…no. Not this semester :/

  4. I own She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb. Excellent book and I reread it often. I am still working on Dr. Pol’s book about being a veterinarian. Someday I will have more time for books 🙂
